Silvera (IP Platform Licensor)
Thermodynamic Physics Moats & Industrial Platform Architecture
Co-Founder for Silvera, an industrial IP HoldCo. Architected proprietary first-principles thermodynamic models ("physics moats") evaluating the physical limits, thermal baselines (R-value), and mass-balance yields of non-wood fiber vs. incumbent packaging. Designed the systems boundary separating central IP platform capabilities from operating manufacturing licensees.
The Challenge
Deep-tech biomaterials companies face intense investor and enterprise skepticism regarding whether novel molded-fiber solutions can achieve physical and economic parity with legacy packaging at industrial scale.
The Approach
Developed first-principles thermodynamic models to quantify the physical boundaries of thermal performance and fiber conversion. Built techno-economic assessment (TEA) proformas for national multi-facility expansion, and partnered directly with the Chief Revenue Officer (Douglas) to war-game commercial deals, red-team partnership structures, and de-risk enterprise market entry.
Key Highlights
Thermodynamic Physics Moats
First-principles thermodynamic modeling evaluating heat transfer, fiber mass balance, and physical limits of cold-chain molded-fiber alternatives vs. expanded polystyrene.
Platform Licensor Systems Boundary
Architected the separation of core platform capabilities (process model, digital twin, carbon accounting, hub network optimization) from licensee factory operations.
Commercial War-Gaming & Diligence
Collaborated with the CRO on behind-the-scenes red-teaming, supplier negotiation dossiers, and enterprise joint-venture financial structures.
